Dr. Melissa Ferrer
Dr. Melissa Ferrer is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Psychology with specialized training in neuropsychological assessment and intervention. She provides services in both English and Spanish and has extensive experience working with culturally diverse populations across the lifespan.
Dr. Ferrer’s primary area of clinical focus is neuropsychological evaluation, with particular experience assessing older adults presenting with memory concerns, cognitive decline, neurological conditions, and age-related cognitive changes. She also conducts comprehensive evaluations for a variety of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral concerns, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and other factors that may impact cognitive functioning.
In addition to assessment services, Dr. Ferrer provides psychotherapy and cognitive rehabilitation interventions designed to help individuals maximize cognitive functioning, improve compensatory strategies, and enhance quality of life. She has experience facilitating individual psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation services, and psychosocial rehabilitation groups for older adults.In her therapeutic work, Dr. Ferrer takes a primarily existential and person-centered approach, helping individuals explore meaning, identity, personal values, and life transitions while fostering greater self-awareness and psychological growth. She also integrates evidence-based interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other therapeutic modalities as appropriate to meet each individual’s unique needs and treatment goals.
Dr. Ferrer is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care and works collaboratively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to promote meaningful improvements in functioning, well-being, and overall quality of life.
